Remember last week when I said I was only soothed by a shared meal with other pilgrims? Well this is David and Debbie, they shared their meal with me many times on the Camino, and now they’re here at my house. We visited San Francisco. Took a picture of Alcatraz.
We stopped at a coffee house and had lattes together, but I didn’t take a picture because I didn’t think of it. Wish I had.
But here is one of them at Lombard street.
We had lunch and I didn’t take a picture. Wish I had.
We visited The National Shrine of St. Francis of Assisi because they know I like that kind of thing. And because it was open. It is a beautiful church. It houses a replica of St. Francis’ chapel in Assisi. I’ll take a picture another time and show you.
This is the Transamerica building, which is pretty impressive. My husband works there. But we didn’t visit him.
We shopped a little. Went home and had dinner with my husband. I didn’t take a picture. I’m so glad I didn’t because the biggest lesson of the Camino de Santiago is that relationships are what is important in life. Appreciate those your with. Go for lattes, enjoy meals together and linger awhile. It’s Eucharistic, but I’ll tell you about that later.
I’ll post tomorrow. I promise. In the mean time I am late for lunch on a Walnut Farm. Random, I know. I’ll tell you about that another time, too.
